What do you mean by trail? Is it a driving, hiking or biking trail?

All of the above! Armed with a Civil War Trails map you can follow in the footsteps of the soldiers as they moved from site to site. Should you choose to bike it, please follow all traffic rules and regulations (and wear a helmet). Some sites are accessed via walking trails while others might be on a busy street corner. Theres something for everyone.

How can I help Civil War Trails?

Your support comes in many ways, thanks for asking. When visiting a Trails sign, ‘check in’ on social media, use our hashtags, and be sure to patronize local businesses too. Let us know if you find a sign that is in disrepair or if a directional sign is missing. Want to adopt a sign? We always have a list of sites which need sponsorship, so send us a message through our Contact page.

What does it cost to add a site to the Civil War Trails network?

The initial package costs $3,500 and includes the design, fabrication and installation of the interpretive sign, a set of confirmatory directional signs and placement on the Civil War Trails printed maps and website. Each Civil War Trails sign requires an annual sponsor which allows us to maintain and market the site. Click on our Partners page for more information.

Does Civil War Trails, Inc., produce other interpretive signage?
